FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q How can all this sheet music be FREE or so INEXPENSIVE?
A StringLibrary's original titles are made available for free or at a very low cost because we strongly believe in making available to the string community the basic repertoire for violin, viola, and cello. Plans are well underway to include around 500 of the most common string titles in the initial phase, with a second phase at around 1,000 titles, each collection counting as a unique title! If you find this site useful and you'd like to support and encourage our efforts, please consider a donation... All non-StringLibrary titles are offered at a DISCOUNT, but in VERY LIMITED quantities (most titles are available in single copies only - we DO NOT reorder these once they're sold).
Q What are the SOURCES for StringLibrary's original titles?
A StringLibrary's original titles derive from public domain (PD) editions of public domain titles. We focus on the timeless, essential classics for violin, viola and cello, adding teaching materials, arrangements and transcriptions – the repertoire ranges from nursery tunes and folk songs to sonatas and concertos...
